Autocatalytic reaction-diffusion processes in restricted geometries
We study the dynamics of a system made up of particles of two different species undergoing irreversible quadratic autocatalytic reactions: A + B → 2A. We especially focus on the reaction velocity and on the average time at which the system achieves its inert state. By means of both analytical and numerical methods, we are also able to highlight the role of topology in the temporal evolution of ...
متن کاملGeneral reaction-diffusion processes with separable equations for correlation functions.
We consider general multispecies models of reaction diffusion processes and obtain a set of constraints on the rates which give rise to closed systems of equations for correlation functions. Our results are valid in any dimension and on any type of lattice. We also show that under these conditions the evolution equations for two point functions at different times are also closed. As an example ...
متن کاملPrediction-based Estimating Functions for Diffusion Processes with Measurement Noise
The prediction-based estimating functions proposed by (Sørensen, 1999) are generalized to facilitate parameter estimation in discretely observed stochastic differential equations, where the observations are corrupted by additive white noise. The new class of estimating functions has most of the nice properties of martingale estimating functions. However, they may be applied when no obvious or e...
متن کاملAnomalous diffusion, stable processes, and generalized functions.
The evolution equations in real space and time corresponding to a class of anomalous diffusion processes are examined. As special cases, evolution equations corresponding to stable processes are derived using the theory of generalized functions, recovering some known results differently interpreted, and an evolution law for stable processes of order unity.
